Katherine Anderson - New Board Member of Meditation Australia
I am honoured to share that I have been welcomed as a new Board Member of Meditation Australia.
This feels like a meaningful milestone in my journey across meditation, wellbeing, spiritual development and digital innovation. It is also a beautiful opportunity to contribute to the wider meditation community in Australia, supporting the continued growth, accessibility and integrity of meditation teaching across diverse traditions.
As a certified meditation teacher, energy intuitive, Akashic guide, digital strategist and Co-Founder of OneQuest, my work has always lived at the intersection of presence, purpose, transformation and connection. Joining the Meditation Australia Board feels deeply aligned with the path I have walked, the work I am here to share, and the future I believe is possible for meditation and wellbeing.
What Is Meditation Australia?
Meditation Australia is the national peak body for meditation and meditation teachers in Australia.
The organisation supports the professional development, recognition and ethical practice of meditation teaching, while also helping the wider public connect with qualified teachers and trusted meditation practices.
One of the things I value deeply about Meditation Australia is its respect for the diversity of meditation traditions, practices and lineages. Meditation is not held within one single method or philosophy. It can be practised through mindfulness, contemplation, stillness, self-inquiry, spiritual connection, breath, presence and many other pathways of inner awareness.
At its heart, Meditation Australia helps ensure that meditation continues to grow in a way that is ethical, accessible, inclusive and grounded in professional standards.
What It Means to Be a Board Member
Being appointed to the Meditation Australia Board is both an honour and a responsibility.
It is a position of contribution, service and care. Board members help guide the direction of the organisation, support its mission, and bring their professional knowledge, lived experience and perspective to the continued development of the meditation community.
This includes contributing to important conversations around professional standards, accessibility, education, ethics, diversity, teacher development and the evolving role meditation can play in modern life.
This role reflects my long-standing belief in the power of meditation to support presence, inner coherence, self-awareness and meaningful personal growth.
Bridging Meditation, Digital Strategy and Accessible Wellness
One of the things I feel I can bring to the Meditation Australia Board is a bridge between two worlds: the depth and integrity of meditation practice, and the possibilities created through digital strategy and accessible online education.
Through my work as Director of Sirocco Digital and Co-Founder of OneQuest, I have seen how digital platforms can help teachers, practitioners and seekers connect in meaningful ways.
OneQuest was created to make wellness education, therapies and retreats more accessible to people from the comfort of home. Through that work, I have become even more passionate about supporting teachers and practitioners to share their wisdom with integrity, while helping people access high-quality wellbeing support wherever they are.
I believe meditation has an important role to play in the future of wellbeing, especially as more people seek practical, grounded ways to manage stress, reconnect with themselves and live with greater presence.
Why This Appointment Matters
Meditation is more than a practice I teach. It is a way of returning.
Returning to the breath.
Returning to the body.
Returning to awareness.
Returning to the quiet wisdom that lives within us all.
In a world where so many people feel overwhelmed, distracted, disconnected or constantly “on,” meditation offers a pathway back to presence. It can support emotional regulation, self-awareness, inner steadiness, spiritual connection and a more compassionate relationship with ourselves and others.
As meditation becomes more widely available, I believe it is essential that it continues to be shared with care, respect and integrity. Organisations like Meditation Australia play an important role in holding this standard, supporting teachers, encouraging ethical practice and creating a strong foundation for meditation education across Australia.
To be part of that conversation is something I feel deeply grateful for.
Supporting the Future of Meditation in Australia
As I step into this role, I bring a deep respect for the many traditions and pathways through which meditation is taught and practised.
My interest is in supporting the growth, accessibility and integrity of meditation teaching across diverse traditions, while helping more people experience meditation as a practical and deeply supportive part of everyday life.
In my practice, meditation is not simply a technique. It is a doorway into presence, self-awareness and inner connection. It can support how we move through challenge, how we meet ourselves, how we lead, how we heal, and how we live with greater clarity and compassion.
I am honoured to join the Meditation Australia Board and contribute to the continued evolution of meditation teaching in Australia.
This appointment feels like both a recognition of the path I have walked and an invitation to continue serving the wider meditation and wellbeing community with courage, care and integrity.
